So much waste, so little time...

Friday, June 20, 2008

It's a gorgeous day in Katoland; a great day to set up for Brew Fest, an event I and my family will not be attending. $50 to stand in the sun and drink bitter beer samples? No thanks. Where's a good comic book convention when you need one?

Bicycle! Bicycle! I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike...

A couple of new booze transports to the Alley...

Ah, it's the classic tale of the Lady and the Lite.

HEY! You two! Get out of there!

..and the Thursday party begins!

Blocking the street off, getting ready for this week's Songs on the Lawn...

Though the weather be stormy, 'tis time once again for Songs on the Lawn. This year it's being held in Alley-Blog!land! Yowza! Every Thursday in June, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be food, people and music. That, and a very special alley.

Three dudes and a ramp. And what was being hauled out of that truck? Anyone?

This one has Understanding Boss and me puzzled. The fine print on the side/bottom of the truck says they're the "Minnesota Corn/Soybean Farmers." Yes, we know what farmers are, but what organization is this? And do they come in peace?

This one's for Claudia, who thinks that Alley-Blog! Is only about booze trucks. No, Claudia, it's also about GARBAGE. Sweet sweet garbage.

Catching up on some alley action I'd missed...

Pic #1: It's hard to tell from this overexposed masterpiece, but we really have a nice park next to our alley.

Pic #2: The white truck was slowly backing up, and the guy was waiting patiently to cross. He really was amazingly patient.

Pic #3: Kunkel Electric is based in Mapleton, but their trucks are in 'Kato all the time. Wonder how bad gas prices are hurting them.

Pic#4: Seen on the stairs of the parking ramp as I was leaving work. I'm uncertain about the connection between the pile of cigarette butts and the tin box with the word "FRONT" on it. Ideas?
